Card, Spin, Tour (Grade Five/Six)

Highlights:

This program focuses on demonstrating an understanding that people have changed technology over time to meet their needs, wants, and interests. We will identify selected technological milestones i.e. waterpower and industrial development.

Program Outline:

Arrival: Bathroom, Place coats, bags etc.

10 min: Welcome Introduction (Students are divided into 2 groups)      

20 min: Tour Part One-Hand carding, Spinning wool, Carding machinery

20min: Tour Part Two-Waterwheel, 19th Century Industrial Park

20 min: Group A vs Group B Q&A Game                  

10 min: Conclusion
